With interest rates near zero and set to stay there for a long time to come, should investors shy away from bonds and other fixed income securities like the plague?

Vincent Fournier, portfolio manager at Claret, warns that it is very difficult to find fixed income securities that meet the three investment objectives for which they were created, namely to protect capital, generate liquidity and offer protection in the event of a fall in the stock markets.
